An Honest Interview With Myself
Meet Andriana, the face behind ARONIA living.
I believe that each of us is a unique combination of diverse personas, gradually unfolding them through life.
Welcome to an honest conversation with myself as I try to unpeel the first thin layers of my identity, so you get to know me more. Consider this a glimpse of the core of who I am – a collection of moments and stories to be shared.
I believe that each of us is a unique combination of diverse personas, gradually unfolding them through life. So, whether out of sheer curiosity or genuine interest, here are some insights to help you understand my current version a little better:
THE INTERVIEW
THE BASICS
I always start my day with a strong cup of earl-grey tea while scrolling on my iPhone.
My star sign is Cancer (feel free to send birthday wishes on July 19th!).
My main profession is Head of Project Management for a Medical Education company in the UK and I work remotely from home in Athens, Greece.
My favourite season is Autumn. After the hot Greek summer, its arrival gives a sense of rejuvenation and anticipation for the season ahead. Also, it’s a time of new beginnings, filled with enthusiasm and hope.
A night well spent means being around beloved faces in a charming Athenian bar or a cosy home gathering.
HOME & DECOR
I would describe my personal home aesthetic as casually sophisticated; understated elegance that blends contemporary design trends with vintage touches, creating a timeless yet eclectic atmosphere.
My favourite room in the house is my green-themed guest room, inspired by vintage elements and the charm of the British countryside from my time in the UK. It’s where I've dared to play with colours, and it's paid off beautifully.
An object of my flat that I love dearly is my Japanese paintings set decorating the dining table. A flea market find, they complement the room’s minimalistic style, bringing joy at every glance.
If there's one home item I'd keep purchasing, it would be glassware. From modern glasses to vintage crystals, I love them all! There is truly something special about pairing the perfect glass with every drink; it does make a difference!
BEAUTY & STYLE
My everyday beauty essentials are a top-quality vitamin-C serum, an antiaging moisturiser, a high-SPF sunscreen and a highlighter for extra skin glow.
My signature style involves wide-leg trousers, crisp shirts and a masculine style blazer.
Three things you will find in my handbag are a neutral shade lipstick (usually from Mac Cosmetics), a compact mirror and my wallet. My iPhone is usually in my pocket.
My most precious piece of jewellery is my mum’s ruby ring. It is very dear to my heart as I still remember the day it was purchased along with a matching necklace for me.
The next item on my wish list is a new black pair of sunglasses. I've practically lived in my current ones from The Attico and I feel it’s time to replace them.
CULTURE
My favourite city is London. My second home, my forever inspiration, London will always have a special place in my heart for the countless beautiful memories it has gifted me.
A book I usually recommend is Manifest: 7 Steps to Living Your Best Life. A self-development guide to help you organise your thoughts and reach for your goals.
A famous person I would love to have dinner with is Athena Calderone, the founder of the lifestyle brand Eyeswoon. Her diverse aesthetics have shaken the world of design, and she serves as an inspiration for those of us who feel we can be More Than One Thing.
My favourite museums are the Art Institute of Chicago, the Noguchi Museum in NYC, and the Acropolis Museum in Athens. Each offers a unique blend of art and cultural significance that captivates.
DIVING DEEPER
My unsolicited advice is that confidence is more important than competence. Speaking from personal experience, prioritise building your confidence! It is an ongoing, never-ending journey.
The best advice I've received is to always keep my focus on where I want to go. Otherwise, I might end up heading in the direction I'm staring at. Read that twice.
My biggest existential fear is departing from this world without leaving a meaningful legacy behind.
A moto that I like is that it’s our personal responsibility to share our charisma with the world.
